Key Features and Benefits
Key Features and Benefits

Built for demanding, high-footfall locations

The welded aluminium leaf construction creates a robust high-traffic entrance door for buildings where reliability and continued operation are key considerations. The system is suitable for medium, heavy and severe-duty applications.

Thermally broken entrance solution

Thermally broken aluminium profiles support the thermal performance of the entrance assembly. Calculations can be completed for the proposed door design, size and glazing specification.

Configurable around the project

Single or double leaves, single or double-acting operation, inward or outward opening and powered-operation options give designers flexibility across different building types and entrance requirements.

Enhanced security options

PAS 24:2022+A1:2024 enhanced security can be specified alongside multipoint locking, panic or non-panic hardware and electronic access control, subject to the approved configuration.

Finger protection included as standard

The standard anti-finger-trap pivot stile helps address finger-trapping risk at the hinge side of the door. Both full-round and half-round finger-guard arrangements are available.

Supports accessible entrance design

Document M-compliant threshold options are available for projects requiring an accessible entrance arrangement.

Suitable for automated entrances

Selected configurations can be combined with powered operators, making the system suitable for frequently used automatic or power-assisted entrances.

Panic exit hardware options

Hardware options are available to BS EN 1125 and BS EN 179, allowing the door to be configured around the intended exit application.

Coordinates with Novastruct curtain walling

Compatibility with FSX 100 and FSX 110 provides a coordinated approach when incorporating the entrance door within a Novastruct curtain walling system.

Choice of architectural finishes

A wide range of colours and finishes allows the door to coordinate with the surrounding façade and the wider architectural palette.

Design Considerations
Design Considerations

Size and operating arrangements

Maximum leaf dimensions and weights vary according to the closer and pivot arrangement selected:

  • Manual operation: maximum leaf width of 1250 mm and maximum leaf weight of 120 kg when using a concealed overhead closer pivot arrangement.
  • Powered or power-assisted operation: maximum leaf width of 1320 mm and maximum leaf weight of 160 kg when using a heavy-duty floor pivot with a springless concealed overhead closer.
  • Maximum leaf height: 3000 mm.
  • Maximum leaf area: 3.3 m².

Final door sizing must be considered in relation to the operating method, closer arrangement, leaf weight and approved system configuration.

Safety and inclusive access

Anti-finger-trap pivot stiles are included as standard. Full-round and half-round options are available, with the half-round finger guard applicable to open-out panic-door arrangements. Document M-compliant threshold options can also be incorporated to help meet the accessibility requirements of the wider entrance design.

Security and door hardware

The DSX 190 TB is available with multipoint panic or non-panic locking, panic exit devices and electronic access control. Where PAS 24 performance is required, the complete door arrangement, including its hardware, opening configuration and locking system, must follow the approved specification.

Thermal requirements

The performance of a completed DSX 190 TB doorset will depend on its dimensions, configuration and chosen glazing or infill. Project-specific U-value calculations can be provided by Novastruct based on the proposed door specification.

Glazing and infill

The system accommodates dry-glazed insulating glass or infill units up to 42 mm thick. Units are retained using aluminium glazing beads and EPDM gaskets.

Façade integration

Compatibility with FSX 100 and FSX 110 curtain walling allows the DSX 190 TB to be incorporated into coordinated glazed entrance and façade designs.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The DSX 190 TB can be configured to meet the operating, access, security and dimensional requirements of a wide range of commercial entrance applications. Available arrangements include single and double doorsets, inward and outward opening, single and double-acting operation and configurations suitable for powered operators.
